Established in 2005 by founders Mike and Olly, TopCashback now has over 11 million members and saves them over £100 million every year in the UK alone. On average, members can save around £325 a year by shopping online through TopCashback.
It’s really easy to use TopCashback. Members can look for one of the 5,000 brands onsite to shop with whether that be eBay, Just Eat, ASOS or Booking.com. Once they’ve selected a retailer and clicked through to its TopCashback page, they will be able to view all the current cashback offers. To start shopping, members just need to click on the pink Get Cashback button, they’ll be diverted to the retailer website. From there, members simply need to shop as normal and TopCashback will take care of the rest. The cashback will show in the member’s account as soon as it’s been confirmed and then will be payable as soon as the retailer pays it to TopCashback.
It’s free to join TopCashback; new members are signed up to the Plus Membership 30-day trial, giving them access to the higher cashback rates and additional benefits and features. At the end of the trial, members have the option of staying on the Plus Account (it has an annual £5 fee retained from members earning) or moving to the Classic Account (totally free to use).
On top of the market-leading cashback rates and money-saving deals, TopCashback also has comparison tools called TopCashback Compare, which allow members to compare broadband or insurance deals. TopCashback Compare enables members to find the cheapest, and most appropriate products while also allowing them to earn some of their money back.
TopCashback doesn’t believe members should miss out on great money-saving deals just because they chose to spend in-store rather than online. How does TopCashback really work?
This may all sound very well and good, but questions normally arise like “How does it really work? How does TopCashback make money?” and the answers are actually quite simple. Brands pay sites like TopCashback, Google or comparison sites a commission for driving sales to their site. Instead of keeping this money, which never seemed particularly fair to our founders, TopCashback passes it back to its members as cashback. TopCashback is a 100% cashback site so all the commission it would have earned for driving a member’s sale is given back to the member. Instead, TopCashback earns money from the sponsored adverts and promotions featured on the site.
