What are 80% LTV Mortgages?

Loan-to-value (LTV) refers to the amount of loan in relation to the property value, so with an 80% LTV mortgage, you’ll own 20% of the value of your home. Often the rates available at 80% LTV are better than those offered at higher LTVs. They‘re available in a range of mortgage types, including fixed rate and variable.

Quick links are where we have an arrangement with a provider so you can move directly from our site to theirs to view more information and apply for a product. We also use quick links where we have an arrangement with a preferred broker to move you directly to their site. How our 80% LTV mortgage comparison chart works

Leanne Macardle

Leanne Macardle

Editor

Our 80% LTV mortgages comparison chart is a quick and easy way to compare all the 80% LTV mortgages currently available. Those mortgages that can be easily applied for directly through our website by clicking on the ‘Go To Provider’s Site’ button are shown at the top of the chart, with the remaining results organised to show the best deals towards the top and the highest rates at the bottom. To reorder the whole table into rate order, just untick the box at the top of the search table.

How to choose the right 80% LTV mortgage for you

When choosing the right 80% LTV mortgage it is important to not just pick a deal based solely on the rate being offered. Instead, it is important to consider the whole package, including any initial charges and flexible features such as payment holidays and overpayments, thereby ensuring you’ve got a deal that suits your individual circumstances.
